The Shake off the Winter Blues Charity Dinner Dance is held each year at the Woodstock Moose Lodge and Family Center. It is held every year on Friday night during the Woodstock Groundhog Days Celebration of events. The event was developed to give back to our local community, support Mooseheart Child City and School, and to hold an event that would bring people from our community, as well as from all over to our city to reminisce about the events of the Groundhog Day movie which was filmed in our town, and in our lodge back in 1992.
With those thoughts in mind we pick a different local charity each year and split the proceeds 50/50 between Moose Charities which supports Mooseheart, and the local charity that we pick each year. Over the years we have donated to the Woodstock Food Pantry, CASA of McHenry County, Pioneer Center of McHenry County, Youth Services Bureau of McHenry County, and Turning Point.
The event is an inexpensive evening that includes a dinner, top live music entertainment, raffles, prize drawing and often much more. This event is one surely not to miss during the Woodstock Groundhog Days Celebration. Come on out and dance while we "Shake off the Winter Blues", at the Woodstock Moose Lodge's "Shake off the Winter Blues" Groundhog Days Charity Dinner Dance. |
