Welcoming of the Groundhog

01 February 2024 6:00 pm

Woodstock Willie will be making a grand appearance to kick off the weekend’s festivities.

The Woodstock Community Choir will entertain us with songs from the Woodstock Willie Song Book. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

This FREE event will be in a new location for 2024. It will be in the Event Center on the top floor of the Courthouse Center on the Square. Elevator entrance is on the west side on Throop Street.

The Woodstock Community Choir, founded in 2014 by our artistic director Cassandra Vohs-Demann and assistant director Jessica Neihengen, proudly serves as the official choir for the City of Woodstock. Singers aged sixteen and older are warmly welcomed, regardless of their singing experience or skill level. There is no audition requirement, making it accessible to all who have a passion for singing, enjoy having fun, and wish to find a sense of community.

The choir’s repertoire is delightfully diverse, spanning genres from classical to rock and everything in between. Throughout the year, the group performs two concerts at the Woodstock Opera House, accompanied by a full band. Additionally, they lead singing for the annual Lighting of the Square and actively participate in various community events. They are also excited to be part of this year’s Groundhog Day festivities.

As a 501c(3) non-profit organization, the Woodstock Community Choir remains dedicated to its mission of “Building Community Through Singing!” For more information, please visit their website at woodstockcommunitychor.org. 🎵🌟
